Morghan first reached out to me last year, determined to have me capture her wedding, even though I live 1,400 miles away! She’s from my hometown, Lake City, FL, and made it clear that she would not take no for an answer when it came to hiring me. Logan & Morghan flew me out to Gainesville, GA, for their Lake Lanier intimate wedding day, and let me tell you, it was so amazing! But here’s the wild part: Lake Lanier wasn’t the original plan!
Originally, Logan & Morghan were supposed to elope in Blue Ridge, GA. They had booked a stunning Airbnb in the mountains, ready for a cozy and intimate elopement experience. But Mother Nature had other plans…An unexpected snowstorm hit Blue Ridge, shutting down access to their property. And we’re not talking about a light dusting, this was a full-blown, roads-are-closed, can’t-get-in-or-out kind of storm. In a place that rarely gets snow, this was the last thing anyone expected. But instead of panicking, these two rolled with it. With just hours to spare, they pivoted and found another Airbnb this time, on Lake Lanier. And let me just say… it couldn’t have been more perfect!!!
Their new location on Lake Lanier was straight out of a dream. The moody sky, the mist over the water, and the serene, private atmosphere made this elopement feel so intimate and intentional. Morghan looked absolutely stunning in her off-the-shoulder white gown, and Logan’s brown blazer and jeans gave the perfect relaxed, classic vibe. They exchanged vows by the lake, with their closest loved ones surrounding them in an emotional and beautifully personal ceremony. We had the coziest reception indoors, where they cut into the most elegant minimalist white cake, decorated with pinecones and florals that perfectly matched the wintery lakeside setting.
If there’s one thing I learned from Logan & Morghan’s wedding, it’s that elopements require flexibility. You can plan every single detail, but at the end of the day, life happens. And you know what? That’s okay. These two could’ve let the last-minute change stress them out. But instead, they embraced the unexpected, and in the end, Lake Lanier was even better than Blue Ridge could have been!
Taylor captured this moment better than I could ever imagine. She was extremely professional, comforting, and so much fun to work with. The whole process from booking until wedding day was seamless and she kept in touch to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. I highly highly recommend!! – Morghan
If you’re planning an elopement, take notes from Logan & Morghan: be open to change, trust the process, and know that your day will be perfect no matter what! Because at the end of the day, it’s not about the place, the weather, or the details. It’s about the love you’re celebrating. And that? That’s always perfect. Ready for me to capture yours next?
